Give Back Days

Give Back Days

Give Back Days are provided to colleagues so they can provide their time and expertise to help support the local community.

A colleague can take up to 2 Give Back Days per year.

Ideas for Give Back Days include:

  • Litter picking
  • Volunteering at the Community Larder
  • Gardening or decorating at a Care Home
  • Brownies or Scout Leader
  • Volunteering at an animal rescue centre

If you are unsure whether your idea qualifies for a Give Back Day, please email staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk

Applying!

Give Back Days must be booked through MyView under paid absence. Prior approval from your line manager is required to ensure business continuity and proper planning. This helps maintain smooth operations while supporting your participation in these valuable initiatives.

Colleagues cannot use Give Back Days to:

  • Be a chaperone at an event of their child’s or family member (such as school trips, discos etc)
  • To have time off work to help a family or friend (such as moving house or gardening)

We’d love to hear back from anyone who has used a Give Back Day to support their community or a charity.

Send us your stories and photos to staffwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk so we can share them to this page and see what you have all been up to!
