In this two-hour session you will be given an overview of Matrix Management, discovering the different Types of matrix structures and gaining a better understanding of what matrix management is. You will discover a little more about the advantages vs disadvantages and ways of making matrix management successful. Your facilitator is David Bacon from GBS corporate.

The University of Lincoln is participating in the National Learning at Work Week by hosting ‘Create the Future on 18th May 2023 at the Minerva Building (MB3203).  

This is a great opportunity for existing apprentices to come along and listen to our panel of apprentice alumni from the CMDA and SLMDA. They will be sharing their learning journey and how they prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA), providing their experiences. You will be able to ask the panel questions to help your own preparation and understanding.  This is also an opportunity to network with each other and our alumni who are a mix of internal and external graduates who are from different professional backgrounds.

Embedding Climate Change in the Curriculum

This interactive workshop will look at detailed examples of how UCU members are incorporating climate education in their classroom practice in a way which we hope you will find exciting and empowering. 

The full aims of the interactive workshop are to: 

  1. understand why sustainability issues are so important to students and UCU members
  2. explore how sustainability issues have been incorporated into a range of learning programmes
  3. reflect on how to amend your own practice
  4. consider how you could use your experience to support other UCU members around sustainability issues.

How the workshops will work 

The taught sessions will last for about 60 minutes, followed by 15-20 minutes of Q and A and discussion. In that case the total time commitment will be less than an hour and a half.

Art Class Minerva MB3203

Colleagues will be provided with supplies and a brief to create an art piece which will then contribute to a wider art project that will be displayed at the University.

HEA RECOGNITION CELEBRATION EVENT 

12.00 – 13.00

This event is aimed at all those who gained their HEA fellowship over the past year, at levels D1, D2 and D3. HEA fellowship recognises colleagues’ teaching and learning practice at the University of Lincoln. To celebrate this achievement, the event will include a short congratulatory speech from Dr Kate Strudwick, Dean of LALT, followed by lunch and refreshments.

Seated Yoga

12:00 – 13:00

An hour-long online session, run by an experienced yoga teacher, aimed at those with largely sedentary roles but suitable for everyone.  There is no gym clothing or special equipment required – just you and your chair.  This session will not only stretch and work those muscles neglected through sitting but also offer relaxation techniques.
