Getting Started – Decolonising at Lincoln
Online
12:00 – 13:00
Decolonising seems to be a new preoccupation within UK higher education today. But just what does it mean to “decolonise” a university? What are the differences and overlaps between decolonisation and equality, diversity and inclusion work? And how might decolonisation function as a whole-of-institution project? In this informal session, Simon Obendorf, from the University’s Decolonising at Lincoln Steering Group, aims to shed some light on just what we mean when we talk about decolonising, explore what this might mean for colleagues across the institution and give some ideas about how we might integrate decolonial perspectives into our work practices, policies and organisational culture. There will be lots of space here for questions, discussion and sharing of practice.
