Preparing for Your First Day
What to Wear
Smart Casual: Mostly our staff are advised to dress professionally while also being comfortable. Speak to your line manager in advance to check the dress code of your specific role and department as some roles may require certain clothing or personal protective equipment.
Layers: We recommend you bring layers of clothing. Temperatures fluctuate between rooms and buildings at certain times of the year. This way you will not feel too hot, or too cold.
What to Bring
Official Photo ID: You will need a form of official photo ID, such as a Passport or Driving Licence to obtain a staff pass. The Student Support Centre will ask to see your ID, they will then take your picture and print you a Staff ID Card.
Travel Mug/Water Bottle: The University is committed to promoting sustainability. We aim for everyone to use water fountains and reusable cups on campus where possible. You can purchase these on-site, or bring your own, there may be communal items in some kitchens.
Tea, coffee and milk are provided in shared kitchen areas. If you have specific requirements for refreshments or you are bringing lunch/ food with you, these can be stored in the shared fridges for staff.
Things to Know
Card/Digital Payment Only: The University is a cashless campus, you must use a digital form of payment (bank card, phone etc.)
Food & Drink/Lunch: You can use staff fridges in most University buildings to store your lunch, or you can visit one of the catering outlets on campus. Please note that there is no hot food outlet at our Holbeach campus)
