Returning University Equipment

All UoL IT equipment must be returned before colleagues leave the University. This includes equipment used both in the office and at home. This can include laptops, PCs, tablets, phones, headsets, cables, power leads, adapter, monitors, laptop stands, external storage devices, printers, cameras, docking stations, USB hubs and any equipment that the University has provided for occupational health or access to work reasons.

In most cases, equipment purchased from grant funding is owned by the UoL and should be returned also. Line managers may contact dt@lincoln.ac.uk to obtain a list of equipment that is on record but this may not include all kit, depending when and how it was purchased or allocated to the colleague. DT will be able to advise if there are any specific queries for pieces of kit.

Specifically, if colleagues are returning mobile phones or tablets which have been configured with iCloud or Google accounts, colleagues should remove these. dt@lincoln.ac.uk can provide support on this if appropriate.

Device Loan Scheme

As part of our outplacement support, we are offering the opportunity to retain access to a university laptop for 8 weeks post-employment end date. This is to enable web browsing and access to basic word processing applications (word) to make your experience of applying for roles and the period following your leave date as easy as possible.

Anyone who would like access to a university device can request, via an email to DT@lincoln.ac.uk , a short term loan of a laptop.

Upon request an appointment will be scheduled. The requestor will need to attend either Lawress hall or Minerva building at Brayford, and swap all existing University issued equipment for a loan laptop. They will be given a new user account for the duration of the loan but will lose access to all existing services and data previously available. The loan device will require using the new user account on site to authenticate for the first time.

The new account will enable a basic online office 365 account and web browsing. At the end of the 8-week period the laptop will be returned to PPC by contacting lgarratt@lincoln.ac.uk
